Fantastic. Koalas and almost everything.

We gifted Year Passes to Grandchildren and their parents and accompanied them on Day Passes. Very affordable. We read up online before the visit which was helpful. Youngest grandchild was too small for Koala Cuddle photo - Height requirement is 130 Cms and older child made it by a hair but at moment koala was presented, opted to have parent hold the medium size, placid koala which ended up a perfect photo of 3 of them. The Staff are amazing. Everywhere. It is a huge complex, mostly well shaded and easy to navigate. We arrived before opening and massive Car Park was empty but at departure it was very full. Entry procedure was fast and efficient and in spite of large number of visitors that day we had no problems walking around site and seeing everything we wanted to, when we wanted to. There are koalas and kangaroos everywhere and the large open paddock was popular, enabling children to pat kangaroos, wallabies, emus. Several unusual creatures easily observed. Crocodile’s pool had an amazing tunnel bubble so the children were safely close to the crocodile. This was a big hit and drawcard. Cassowaries are now so rare even up north, so seeing the resident young cassowary was fantastic. The Tasmanian Devils were very visible and exciting to see. We watched the Raptor Show. It was excellent and the children were close up to the Eagle, a big thrill. Young Handlers did an outstanding job explaining about the birds. Biggest lizard I have seen and very colourful skin. A highlight amongst many contenders was the Platypus. Usually so difficult to actually see 1, but Lone Pine has the most active and beautiful platypus. Wonderful. When we pulled up for an early lunch from the Cafe the queue time was short and tables were plentiful in the covered meal area. The children want to return next week they enjoyed it so much. We all did.

Amazing place

The best wildlife park in the world. We love this place and visit whenever we’re in Brisbane. The kids love it, we love it, the animals are happy as and it's usually never crowded.

Amazing place but reserve early

This is an amazing reserve. Make sure to reserve your photo with a koala ahead of time because they sell out quickly. Enjoy seeing more than the koalas including platypus casuaries and kangaroos. Dont miss the predator bird show. I went to reserves like this near melbourne sydney and cairns and this was the best

Koalas great, rest of park pretty grim.

We were sceptical about coming here, as we do not typically visit zoos or animal exhibits. However, we wanted to see a Koala and had failed to do so in the wild despite our best attempts. I had done lots of research and reading regarding their animal welfare, all seemed sound. We really enjoyed the Koalas. The majority were kept in clean, open enclosures. We were there when their leaves were being changed and the staff member was very informative. He explained that some koalas were rescued and would be returned to the wild if possible. The majority are bread in captivity, due to lack of appropriate habitat in the wild. They are trying to provide healthy koalas to help with repopulation. However, the rest of the sanctuary was pretty miserable. The kangaroos made us feel uneasy: one ranger watching the whole (huge) plot of land. People getting in the kangaroo’s faces, shoving cameras at them, trying to feed them when they clearly weren’t interested. We left very quickly. This uneasy feeling didn’t leave us for the rest of the trip. The rest of the sanctuary was pretty dark and dingy. I expected there to be a lot of information about their conservation work for koalas. We went into the koala hospital and the information was lacking. For somewhere that claims they are a sanctuary there is very little information about how they actually achieve this. The cafe looked so rundown and grim. Huge queues. There was nowhere to refill a water bottle unless you got in the queue. As wildlife conservationists I would have expected water fountains, reducing single use plastics. No such efforts! Overall, they should stick to Koalas as this is what they did best. More information is needed as to what they do to help Koalas. For example what does your ticket help achieve?
